Company History
Originally founded in 1971 by Dusty Miller, Columbus Piano Moving was a one truck father-son operation. After falling on hard times and worn out from years of moving pianos, Dusty decided to sell the company to Dave Pastorek in 1988.
Dave continued to move pianos and slowly evolved the company into a full-service 3 truck moving business. Columbus Piano and Flat-Rate Movers was born. Dave hired Jim Huston, fresh from high school and trained him from the ground up in the specialty art of moving pianos. After years of dedicated service, Jim became the backbone of the company and took the over day-to-day operations.
Moving pianos and great customer service became Jim's passion. He hired only the best employees, scheduled all the jobs, and even came up with the original design for the custom dollies that we still use today.
Art Dodson joined the team in the mid 1990s as a professional mover, but quickly advanced in the ranks with his hard work ethic and knack for sales. By 2003, Jim managed the office and Art handled the sales. With business booming, Art and Jim pleaded with Dave to expand operations, hire more movers, and buy more trucks. The potential risks were more than Dave wanted to handle, so with one truck and Dave’s blessing, Art and Jim began to manage all of the overflow business of Columbus Piano and Flat-Rate Movers.
From this point, the rest is the history of Integrity.
